In Kakheti, in the village of Shilda, Kvareli district, “Chateau Davitiani” is for sale. The chateau is located on an area of 1 hectare, which includes a 12-room hotel, a wine cellar, a wine storage, indoor and outdoor restaurants and a swimming pool. Along with the chateau, 40 hectares of vineyards are being sold, where Saperavi, Rkatsiteli and Kakheti Mtsvane grapes are grown.
“Ideal for wine tourism, hotel business, weddings, events, wine festivals and premium agrotourism projects,” the announcement reads.
According to the owner of the chateau, Davit Tsenteradze, the sale price of the hotel and vineyards is 6.7 million USD.
The businessman spoke to bm.ge about the reasons for the sale.
"I think we have created a place that has enormous potential and a future in the hands of a good business operator. The best-kept vineyard and unique location contribute to the further development of both winemaking and tourism in this place and the formation of a fairly profitable business. Now we want to test the possibilities in another direction," he said.
As for future plans, Davit Tsenteradze said that he plans to start some kind of business in Kobuleti, but he refrains from specifying it yet, although he is considering building a hotel or residential building.
For reference, "Chateau Davitiani" was opened about four years ago.
