The debt of companies to the Russian budget in 2022 increased by 545 billion rubles (by 27.5%) compared to 2021, reaching 2.5 trillion rubles (about $27.3 billion), Report informs referring to Izvestia.
Such data are contained in the conclusion of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy on the implementation of the budget for 2022.
The main reason for the increase in debt is related to the deferment of VAT payment by certain companies, the press service of the Ministry of Finance reported.
The Accounts Chamber stated that the risks of tax arrears always exist, since the main reasons include late transfer of payments and additional charges as a result of control measures.
