Competition and Consumer Agency of Georgia launched a probe into eight pharmaceutical companies over alleged misuse of dominance on the market.
According to the Agency, the case has to do with the violation of Article 6 of the Law on Competition in determining the unfair price of twenty sold medicines.
Within the framework of the probe, it was established that eight importer companies have a dominant position (over 40% of the market) with 14 medicines.
“The Competition Agency will assess the dominant position of the defendant companies and the unreasonably high prices for medicines,” the Agency said.
