Carl Hartzell, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday said he expected the European Commission to present its opinion on granting the EU membership candidate status of Georgia in the next “two or three weeks”.
"What I can say now can be boring, because I have to talk about the process. We are still waiting for the time when the European Commission will present its opinion on the application for membership of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. I expect it to be in the next 2-3 weeks," he said.
The Commission has been deliberating over Georgia’s formal application since the submission by the Government of the completed membership questionnaire of the country earlier this month.
