A wide-scale infrastructural project, implementation of which is going to start, is the construction of Natakhtari-Larsi connecting road. Irakli Karseladze, the Chairman of Roads Department and First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, talked about this to BM.ge. According to him, a first-ever in Georgia 9-kilometer road tunnel will be constructed under this project. the authority is planning to launch a tender in the nearest future.
“We are developing the Northern direction. This involves construction of road from Natakhtari to Larsi. Bypass roads will also be included. This is a 9-kilometer Kvesheti-Kobi tunnel project. there is nothing of the kind in Georgia. This is the most optimal way. An international company was involved in design works and tender will be launched in the nearest future. The cost of the entire northern direction – Natakhtari new road, Pasanauri bypass, Kvesheti-Kobi tunnel, Stepantsminda bypass and Larsi section – makes total of 340 mln GEL,” – explains Irakli Karseladze.
