Georgian infrastructure and construction company Construction Service is exporting its products and services to several international markets, according to founder Giorgi Gabunia. Speaking on TV-program Business Course, he said the company recently won a tender in Italy to supply bridge structures from Georgia under a contract worth several million euros.
The company is already active in Canada, the US and Australia. In Canada, it supplied structures for port cranes, while it recently completed another project in Australia. Construction Service is currently working on supplying similar products to a project in Florida, US.
Gabunia said the company’s international expansion was supported by its experience and investment in the Georgian market. He cited the company’s work as a subcontractor on the Rikoti East-West Highway section, saying the project helped the business triple in size and build the capacity needed to enter European markets.
According to Gabunia, Construction Service initially entered export markets with a project worth $100,000, while its latest contract in Italy is valued at several million euros. He said international projects are helping the company expand its experience and generate additional foreign-currency inflows into Georgia.
