Container shipments down by 31% in Georgian Ports, - show the data from Ministry of Finance and Sustainable Development.
Georgia received a total of 128,000 containers in January-April, 2021, which is less by 57,100 compared to the previous year.
According to the statistics, the total turnover of Poti Sea Port is down by 18% amounting to 2.2 million t this year.
However, a growth of 9% was observed in Batumi Sea Port.
Cargo Turnover of Georgian Ports In 4 Months, 2021:
• Poti Port – 2.2 million t; down by 18.5%;
• Supsa Marine Terminal – 1.5 million t, the figure is unchanged compared to the previous year;
• Batumi Port – 1.2 million t, growth of 9%;
• Kulevi Terminal – 0.6 million t, the figure is unchanged compared to the previous year.
Georgian Railway transported 4 million t cargo this year, which is 11% more compared to 2020.
