Content of sulfur in imported fuel will be reduced 10 times
According to the Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, the requirements for vehicle exhaust testing will be made stricter. As Bakhtadze stated at the presentation of Green Economy Policy, the norm of pollutant substances in petrol and diesel fuels will be brought closer to the European standards. “This is policy should cover also diesel fuel. Diesel consumption in Georgia is quite high, therefore, as from the first of October, the standards should be raised up to Euro 4 and then to Euro 5. The content of sulfur in fuels imported to Georgia will be reduced 10 times,” – state Bakhtadze.
