Tbilisi City Court Judge Tamar Mchedlishvili has decided to keep Zviad Tsetskhladze and seven others in detention. They are charged with organizing and participating in group violence during protests near the parliament.
The court reviewed the defense’s evidence and upheld the existing preventive measure of imprisonment.
Three defendants, Tsetskhladze, Vepkhia Kasradze, and Vasil Kadzelashvili, are accused of organizing and leading group violence, which carries a sentence of 6–9 years in prison.
The other five, Giorgi Gorgadze, Irakli Miminoshvili, Insaf Aliyev, Tornike Goshadze, and Nikoloz Javakhishvili, face charges of participating in group violence, which is punishable by 4–6 years in prison.
