"During the winter season, hotels in Racha face significant challenges, those operating at 100% capacity in summer even have to close in winter, because communication channels are not properly working in many villages of Racha - there is no gas and water, so high-income segment prefers to rest at well-equipped winter resorts at such times", - the founder of "Haeri" Gena Takvadze announced this while talking to BM.GE.
Haeri combines three cottages and is the only hotel in Utsera resort, which continues to operate even in winter despite the difficulties.
"Haeri" is the only hotel in Utsera, which operates even in winter, therefore, even if there is a demand from vacationers, we cannot fully satisfy it, as we are able to accommodate only 12 people," Gena Takvadze says.
Speaking to BM.GE, Gena Takvadze notes that the only way to attract vacationers in winter is to build a ski resort in Racha.
"Each citizen of Rahca will unconditionally want to build a ski resort, because it will be a relief, the existence of a winter resort will write a new story in the history of Racha. Currently, people have to meet the winter season with the savings accumulated during the summer," says Gena Takvadze.
The implementation of the future plans of "Haeri" is related to maintaining communication channels in Utsera, they want to expand the hotel, add cottages and a food facility, which is impossible without gas supply.
"When gas supply will be launched in Utsera, we are going to add cottages, because for tourists, it is always a priority to rest in a hotel where meals are included in the service, and there are almost no food facilities in Utsera, especially in winter," he said.
"Haeri" was created a year ago with the personal investment of the founder, which amounted to GEL 200,000. Currently, 4 people are employed there.
The fee for spending the night in the cottage varies depending on the season between GEL 150-300.
