David Kaikatsishvili has been appointed as the new director of the Agency for IDPs, Eco-Migrants and Livelihoods.
Kaikatsishvili was introduced to the agency’s staff by Giorgi Tsagareishvili, Deputy Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection. Tsagareishvili highlighted the appointee’s longstanding experience in working on issues related to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and expressed confidence that, through joint efforts, the agency will be able to take significant steps toward more effective solutions for both IDPs and eco-migrants.
According to the agency, Kaikatsishvili has been serving in public administration since 2012, holding several managerial positions. Most recently, he headed the Department of Social Protection, IDPs and Labor Policy at the Ministry of Health. Previously, he led the IDP and Eco-Migrant Policy Division, where he was involved in implementing projects aimed at improving the living conditions and access to resources for displaced persons.
Kaikatsishvili replaces David Jikia, who had been serving as the acting director of the agency.
