David Songulashvili Met With Israeli Ambassador

GD Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songhulashvili met with the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Georgia, Hadas Meitzad.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing initiatives and explored prospects for future cooperation.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the Government of Israel for years of productive partnership and highlighted the importance of the historic ties between the two countries. He emphasised the need to apply modern agricultural knowledge and noted the success of projects implemented in Georgia by the Israel Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV).

The discussion covered a range of topics, including the introduction of advanced technologies in agriculture, knowledge-sharing by Israeli experts, enhancement of trade relations, strengthening of laboratory infrastructure, and expanded cooperation in agrometeorology.

The Minister noted that Israel offers significant opportunities to increase the export of Georgian agri-food products.

Ambassador Meitzad reaffirmed that Georgia is a friendly nation to Israel and emphasised that support for Georgia’s agricultural sector will continue.
