Davit Mirtskhulava: The Government Has New Propositions for Khudoni HPP

According to the technical director of the Khudoni Hydro Power Plant Davit Mirtskhulava, the government is actively working on renewing the large energy projects. As Mirtskulava told BM.ge, the government will also consider the Khudoni HPP as a priority in the future. “All the projects that are considered to be important for Georgia will get a green light. I believe that there are promises about this and steps will be taken towards this in the near future. I speak of all projects – including Namakhvani, Nenskra and so on.” – states Mirtskhulava When asked about the financial model developed by the government specifically for the Khudon HPP, Davit Mirtskhulava’s was that negotiations are currently underway for this. “There are new proposals for Khudoni HPP, but it is a topic of negotiation and I don’t want to say anything prematurely, but Khudoni is under discussion” – stated Mirtskhulava, but he did not specify the plans for the project, or when it will be known. In terms of the government participation in the project, Mirtskhulava believes that this power plant should be constructed solely by an investor. “I believe that this is investor’s task” – states Mirtshkhulava and did not elaborate further.
