A delegation of Ukrainian business representatives will make a business visit to Tbilisi, Batumi, and Poti on July 20-24, Ukrainian Business and Trade Association (UBTA) said.

The delegation will be headed by Deputy Economy Minister of Ukraine - Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka, UKRINFORM reports.

During the visit, a range of meetings are planned to be held with representatives of business circles and business associations of Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology, and the leadership of the Poti Sea Port.

The topic of the visit is the intensification of bilateral economic cooperation. UBTA drew attention to the fact that Georgia is a net importer of almost all groups of commodities. In 2020, imports exceeded exports by 2.5 times and amounted to more than USD 6 billion. In addition, this country has a huge transit potential for Ukrainian goods going to the countries of Central and Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

In addition, liberal taxation in Georgia makes it effective to create joint ventures to increase export opportunities for Ukrainian goods. A free trade zone with China and participation in the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean (PEM) Convention provide an opportunity to expand the export of domestic goods to the countries of these regions.

UBTA invites Ukrainian businessmen to join the Ukrainian delegation and take the opportunity to increase their presence in the country's market and use Georgia's export opportunities for other countries.
