The Georgian company Art Glass Studio, located in Batumi, is planning to increase its production due to the demand growth. Mariam Shavadze, the co-founder of the enterprise, notes that the demand for stained glass in Georgia surged especially after 2019, and the number of orders in the enterprise increased by 30% in 2022 compared to 2021.
"At this stage, we have fully utilized the Batumi market, we receive a lot of orders from Tbilisi as well. We also have private orders from abroad.
In general, stained glass has become very popular in recent years, so we need additional staff to expand production," says Mari Shavadze.
According to her, the idea of opening an enterprise existed for years, but the possibility of its implementation became possible in 2018 with the micro-grants program of Enterprise Georgia. As the representative of the company told BM.GE, the company obtained GEL 20,000 funding under the condition of 20% participation, and with the said grant, they purchased a stained glass contour machine and started production.
As for the prices, according to the representative of the enterprise, the average cost of a square meter starts from GEL 900.
