Giorgi Surguladze, director of Caucus Autoimport declared, that COVID-pandemic had a positive impact on the auto industry market.
As he noted, the turnover of "Caucasian Auto Import" reached GEL 1 billion last year. The company re-exports 5-6 thousand cars from Georgia every month.
"At some point, the pandemic may even have a positive effect on our business. The auto industry market adapted well to the pandemic. I mean, the demand for used cars increased amid the pandemic - people couldn't spend money on travel, etc. They switched to another activity and were buying cars," he explained.
As for the challenges in the field, Giorgi Surguladze singled out the crisis of the supply chain, when the US ports were practically paralyzed, which made the work process difficult for the business, although according to his own assessment, the situation now relatively improved.
Caucasus Autoimport has about 300 employees. The company entered the Nigerian market in Africa last year.
This year the company is developing in the United Emirates.
As for the future plans, the director of the company says, they will continue to strengthen the regional offices. "We want to enter other markets in the future," he added.
