Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has announced the upcoming appointment of Deputy Minister of Finance Eduard Hakobyan as the new Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC). The Prime Minister shared this news on his Facebook page.
The new head of the tax authority has served as Deputy Minister of Finance since December 2022. Akopyan will replace Rustam Badasyan, who resigned from the position on November 18 of this year.
This appointment is part of a broader wave of personnel changes within the country's leadership, following sharp criticism by the Prime Minister of the work of law enforcement and judicial bodies on November 14.
In recent days, the heads of several key agencies, including the Minister of Territorial Administration and the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, have been dismissed. Additionally, Narek Zeynalyan, a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract Party, announced his resignation amid these developments.
