The private sector announces that the distribution of commercial COVID-19 vaccine is temporarily delayed. The main reason is high demand on vaccines and its current worldwide shortage. As they say, the queue for vaccines is long, and first of all, there are countries that are still waiting for the vaccine.
One of the companies, which was planning to ship AstaZeneca vaccine for their employees and ensured persons, was GPI Holding. As Tina Stambolishvili, head of Communications Director says, it still remains unknown when commercial COVID- vaccine will appear on the market. However, she explains that demand on commercial vaccine was high from the company’s employees and ensured persons.
“We were not in direct negotiations with the manufacture, but we had communication with Georgian companies. I want to note, that there was a high demand on AstraZeneca vaccine, but then it turned out there was a deficit worldwide. We did not manage to distribute commercial vaccine and supposedly, it is will not be available for the near future. We are ready to make some expenditures and offer commercial vaccine to our employees and ensured persons as well”, - Tina Stambolishvili declares.
