Duty tax on flour has been extended for one month, until April 1, 2025. In addition, the import fee has increased.
More specifically, according to the February 28 decree, the importer will have to pay 0.30 GEL per kilogram, or 300 GEL per ton. While previously the fee was 0.25 GEL per 1 kg, or 250 GEL per ton.
The tax on barley and bran has also been adjusted and doubled from 10 tetri per kilogram to 20 tetri, and from 100 GEL to 200 GEL for a per ton.
The government last extended the import tax on flour until March 1, 2025. The relevant decree was issued on August 27, 2024. The import tax has been extended to barley and bran. According to the government decree, when registering more than 200 kg of wheat flour for free circulation, the import tax for 1 ton of wheat flour is still 250 GEL. As for barley and bran, when importing more than 200 kg of barley and bran, the tax per 1 ton is 100 GEL.
