The Council of Heads of Transport Authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has approved the launch of a pilot project for the use of electronic international transport waybills (e-CMR) in international road freight transportation.
According to the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the project is crucial for improving customs administration and will contribute to the digitalization of transport processes.
The decision was made during Transport Week in Moscow, where participants also discussed the development of transport corridors and the implementation of infrastructure projects. Special attention was given to the importance of executing the EAEU’s roadmap for 2024–2026.
The meeting also explored prospects for cooperation between the EEC and the International Civil Aviation Organization. Additionally, the development of a partnership dialogue between the EEC and national road transport associations of EAEU member states, under the auspices of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), was discussed.
