EBRD To Allocated A Loan Of USD 40 MLN To Georgia Healthcare Group

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will allocate senior secured loan of up to USD 40 million to Georgia Healthcare Group (GHG), including USD 15 million will be spent on JSC Evex Hospitals, while USD 25 million will be allocated to JSC Georgia Healthcare Group (GHG).

A loan of USD15 million was allocated for JSC Evex Hospitals:

The Project will finance Evex's capital expenditures programme which includes: introduction of additional services across the selected hospitals, planned upgrade of number of regional hospitals, and energy efficiency investments. The Project also entails partial refinancing of the maturing private local currency bonds of Evex which will benefit liquidity position of the company.

Evex Hospitals is the largest healthcare service provider in Georgia. Evex Hospitals offers wide-ranging impatient services through a network of 17 referral hospitals in the capital and regions with the total bed capacity of 2,600.

A loan of USD 25 million was allocated to JSC Georgia Healthcare Group (GHG):

a committed tranche of USD 10,000,000 to be used for the refinancing of the remaining exposure under the Resilience Framework ("'RF") Loan provided by the Bank; and (ii) an uncommitted tranche of USD 15,000,000 to finance part of the minority shareholder buyout of GHG's pharmaceutical business.The uncommitted USD 15,000,000 under the Project will partially finance the minority shareholder buyout of GHG's pharmaceutical business, JSC Gepha.
