Economic Activity in Armenia: Transaction Volume Exceeds $24.5 Billion in Nine Months

The State Revenue Committee of Armenia has published data on the country’s economic activity from January to September 2024. According to the report, the total volume of transactions recorded in payment documents, including cash register receipts, reached 532.5 million operations, amounting to a total of $24.5 billion.

These figures show significant growth compared to the same period last year. The number of transactions increased by 57.4 million, or 12.1%, while their value rose by $3.2 billion, or 15.1%.

Special attention in the report is given to operations through cash registers. During the reporting period, 497.2 million such transactions were carried out, totaling $5.2 billion, which exceeds last year’s figures by 48 million operations (10.7%) and $385.7 million (8%), respectively.

Significant progress has also been observed in the field of cashless payments. Over the nine months of 2024, 107.9 million cashless transactions were made, totaling $1.6 billion. This represents an increase of 49.9 million transactions (86.3%) compared to the same period last year, with the transaction volume growing by $494.7 million (44.4%).
