Georgia's Education Ministry is finalizing agreements with banks to offer special discounts and benefits for parents purchasing school uniforms with selected bank cards, Education Minister Givi Mikanadze said.
School uniform sales for public school students will begin on September 1 through both retail outlets and a dedicated online platform. According to Mikanadze, details of the participating banks and available benefits will be announced once the agreements are completed.
The ministry is also working with regional governors, municipal mayors, and Educational Resources LLC to identify additional retail locations across the country. These outlets will continue operating beyond the initial rollout, allowing families to purchase replacement or additional uniform items when needed.
Under the government program, free school uniforms will be provided to primary school students from families with a social score below 65,000, children under state care, and Ukrainian students enrolled in Georgia's public schools after being displaced by the war in Ukraine.
