Electricity production in Armenia in 2022 increased by 16.1% compared to the previous year to 8.9 billion kWh, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.
It said in December 2022 compared to November the power production increased by 12.7%, and compared to December 2021- by 9.6%.
According to official data, in the first nine months of 2022, thermal power plants accounted for 55.4% of the total electricity production, hydropower plants produced 23.3% of the total and the nuclear power plant accounted for 18.3%.
Other generating facilities, wind and solar power plants, accounted for 3% of the total generation, ARKA reports.
