Sales of cheese produced by the agritourism business Elia in the village of Andriatsminda, Akhaltsikhe municipality, have increased fourfold this year, according to founder Ilia Inasaridze.

The family-run enterprise produces around five varieties of traditional Georgian cheese, including Tenili, Sulguni, and Chechili, with prices ranging from GEL 16 to GEL 50. Its products are sold both on-site and through the HoReCa sector in Tbilisi, Kakheti, Akhaltsikhe, Adjara, and other regions.

Inasaridze said demand has exceeded even the company’s previous peak growth periods. The facility combines cheese production with agritourism activities, offering tastings, cheese-making masterclasses, and traditional baking experiences for visitors.

Foreign tourists account for a significant share of guests, with visitors from countries including Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic. Founded about four years ago, Elia plans to further develop its visitor facilities and is also considering adding accommodation services in the future.
