The Embassy of Israel is grateful to BMG for yesterday’s professional interview with Ambassador Ran Gidor on the morning show – the Embassy of Israel said in a comment sent to BMG personally.
The comment also reads: “It is regrettable that some other interested parties have lifted only a small part of the original interview, used a condensed translation, ignored the original context, and lent it a different interpretation. Israel takes no sides in the current political crisis in Georgia. The Israeli Embassy joins the rest of the international community is hoping for a quick de-escalation and a mutually-acceptable compromise, based on a peaceful dialogue between all the relevant parties. Israel will continue to support Georgia on its path to prosperity and success”.
The comment was preceded by the Embassy’s note on Facebook earlier today which said: “The Embassy of Israel to Georgia regrets the fact that some of the words expressed by Ambassador Ran Gidor in yesterday's TV interview were taken out of context, misinterpreted and used for political ends. As the Ambassador clearly stressed during the show, Israel takes no sides in the current political crisis in Georgia. The Israeli Embassy joins the rest of the international community in hoping for a quick de-escalation and a mutually-acceptable compromise, based on a peaceful dialogue between all the relevant parties. Israel will continue to support Georgia on its path to prosperity and success”.
