Revaz Magalashvili, director of Retail Group Georgia (Zara, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti), says that the enactment of Green Pass is justified if it applies to all sectors equally. As Magalashvili notes, if restrictions are imposed on unvaccinated citizens, it should be extended to both shopping malls and markets, otherwise different sectors will find themselves in unequal conditions.
"This should not be a selective approach; Green Pass should apply all sectors in order not to redistribute the demand to the other areas, where there will no regulations. The result will be effective in this case and we will avoid negative consequences as well,” said Revaz Magalashvili.
Rezo Magalashvili answers the question why the Georgian government has not yet decided to enact Green Pass, as it is in European countries:
"Vaccination is perceived differently in different countries, the level of education and awareness is different. I think we should give freedom to everyone, but they have to pay for their freedom. For example, they should pay for the PCR test on their own if they do not want to get COVID-jabs", - Magalashvili said.
