Along with the Georgian Dream government, 26 members of the Georgian State Academic Ensemble of Folk Song and Dance "Rustavi" will travel to Shanghai to participate in the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) from November 10 to 15. The total cost of the visit is set at 197,296 GEL, according to a document published by the Procurement Agency.

The invitation to the event came from the Chinese Ambassador to Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze. Georgia’s participation in the exhibition, scheduled for November 5–10, aims to showcase the country’s culture and strengthen its international image.

The simplified procurement was announced by “Enterprise Georgia,” which signed an agreement with the Rustavi ensemble to ensure participation in the event. The contract’s total value of 197,296 GEL covers all services provided, including taxes under Georgian legislation. Transportation costs (round-trip air tickets and internal transfers) and hotel accommodation amount to 110,359 GEL.

During the exhibition, the ensemble will present Georgian folk songs and dances. According to the agency Enterprise Georgia, this participation is important for promoting Georgia’s cultural heritage, exports, and investments. The agency noted that due to delays in negotiations and organizational procedures, electronic tendering was not feasible, and timely procurement was necessary to avoid cost increases and ensure smooth implementation of the event.
