The Parliament of Georgia has issued a statement on additional security measures.
According to the statement, in accordance with the regulations established by order N259/3 of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia of December 30, 2016, entry into the Parliament building will be restricted on March 6.
"The restriction does not apply to accredited journalists or persons whose attendance at the events was agreed in advance with the relevant committee. The purpose of the mentioned measure is to protect the safety of Members of Parliament, employees of the Parliament’s office and persons visiting the Parliament of Georgia, and to ensure the proper working conditions", - reads the statement.
A rally against draft laws on agents of foreign influence is underway near the Parliament.
Representatives of the non-governmental sector, politicians, citizens are participating in the rally.
The sound of trumpets is heard and protesters are chanting - "no to Russian law".
They have brought a wooden wall to the Parliament, showing caricature pictures of representatives of Georgian Dream, namely Bidzina Ivanishvili, Irakli Kobakhidze, Kakha Kaladze, Tea Tsulukiani and Irakli Gharibashvili.
The police are also mobilized on the spot.
The Parliament is considering the draft laws on agents of foreign influence today.
