Executive Vice President of the European Commission for Economic Affairs and EU Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, intends to visit Armenia from May 15 to 16.
As reported on the official website of the European Commission, during this two-day visit, Dombrovskis plans to hold a series of meetings. Among them are meetings with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, and the President of Armenia, Vaagn Khachatryan.
It is expected that these meetings will discuss key economic and trade issues, as well as the prospects for cooperation between the EU and Armenia.
Furthermore, it is noted that Valdis Dombrovskis will also participate in the opening of the annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors in Yerevan, underscoring the importance and significance of this visit for both sides.
The annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors is scheduled for May 14-16 in Yerevan.
Earlier, BMG reported that Armenia became a member of the EBRD on December 7, 1992. The Bank has participated in financing 210 projects in Armenia, with a total investment portfolio of 2.080 billion euros. The share of investments in the private sector is 81%.
The annual meeting and business forum of the EBRD bring together high-ranking officials from member countries, representatives of the financial world, and business leaders to discuss financial and economic issues and cooperation in addressing them.
