“European countries are of outstanding, strategic importance to our country, both in terms of tourism and attracting direct flights,” – said GD Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili at the 20th anniversary of TAV Airports.
According to her, more than 70 international airlines currently operate in Georgia across 120 destinations, a result of a diversification-based strategy. About 37% of flights from Georgia’s three international airports are to European countries.
Kvrivishvili highlighted that global brands such as British Airways and EasyJet entered the Georgian market last year, adding stable and fast-growing direct destinations.
“These routes generate additional tourist flows with high purchasing power. This directly contributes to new job creation, both at and beyond the airport, and increases state budget revenues,” she noted.
