The EU Integration Committee discussed a report on Georgia's potential inclusion in the European Union's single roaming space, presented by the First Deputy Chairman of the EU Integration Committee, Levan Karumidze. Representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Communications Commission were also part of the committee's discussion.

Georgia expressed its interest in joining the European Union's single roaming space as early as 2017, and in November 2023, the European Commission officially indicated its willingness to begin work on this matter.

The report covered various aspects, including the current challenges related to Georgia's inclusion in the European Union's single roaming space, the necessary steps for implementation, the status of roaming services in Georgia, and opportunities for improvement. Suggestions were made regarding the actions that relevant agencies should take to facilitate Georgia's inclusion in the European Union's single roaming space, including the development and adoption of primary and secondary legislation. The committee will oversee the activities conducted by relevant agencies in this regard.

This thematic report was developed with the support of the EU project "Association Agreement Implementation Support (AA Facility)" and involved active participation from government agencies.
