German Ambassador Hubert Knirsch declares, that the EU invites its associated partners to join its sanctions. "The EU invites its associated partners to join its sanctions. What is means concretely in the case of Georgia, what Georgia can do and should do is the subject of discussions that we are having with the Georgian government, and I expect these discussions will move forward and come to results in the coming days", - German Ambassador said.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps participated in a meeting organized by EUGBC today. It was also attended by Andrei Kasyanov, representative of Ukraine's Embassy in Georgia, who said that EU expects the candidates to join the sanctions.

"In early March, Ukraine submitted an application to the European Parliament to expedite consideration of Ukraine's application for EU membership. On March 10, applications from Ukraine and Moldova for EU candidate status were considered in Versailles. Participation in sanctions and security measures, will be a very important signal.

We welcome the steps taken by the National Bank of Georgia, which show clear coordination with the EU and the international banking system. I hope that there will be new steps on the part of the Georgian government in this direction," Knirsch  said.
