The European Union is interested in the stability and prosperity of the entire region, President of the European Council Charles Michel said at a joint press conference with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Report informs.
The European Council President noted that during his meeting with Ilham Aliyev, they discussed prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, projects for the future, and preparations for the Eastern Partnership summit, which is expected to be held at the end of the year.
Charles Michel noted that the EU stands for long-term and sustainable peace in the region.
He noted the importance of delimiting the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stressing the importance of regional cooperation and restoration of infrastructure.
