The current account deficit in the euro area fell to €400 million ($425 million) in October, according to official data released on Tuesday.
The figure was down from a deficit of €8 billion in September, the European Central Bank said in a statement.
Deficits were recorded for secondary income with €12 billion and goods with €3 billion, almost offset by surpluses for services with €13 billion and primary income with €2 billion.
The 12-month rolling deficit amounted to €59 billion (0.5% of euro area gross domestic product) versus a surplus of €318 billion (2.6%) a year earlier.
