Demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in Georgia has been growing in recent years, driving parallel expansion of charging infrastructure, according to E-Space CEO Davit Iosava. He said the company plans to increase its network to 80–100 fast chargers by the end of the year.
The EV market has become more diverse, with both new and used cars widely available. While most vehicles are still imported from the U.S., Chinese-made EVs are gaining popularity and are now the second most in-demand segment.
Iosava noted that the number of EVs in Georgia has doubled over the past year, along with charging stations. More companies are entering the market, and E-Space expects to expand its network in line with demand further.
However, rising electricity tariffs remain a challenge, pushing some operators to increase charging prices. Iosava added that access to an energy exchange market could help reduce costs and support the sector’s growth.
