GD Parlamentary Sectoral Economy and Economic Policy Committee on Monday discussed amendments to the Law on Broadcasting. The Committee adopted the law in the first reading.
Mariam Lashkhi, a single-party MP from the Georgian Dream, asked the rapporteur, Archil Gorduladze, to explain more specifically what is British in the draft law.
"Let me start with what is British here. I want to tell you that everything here is British - for one simple reason: when the self-regulation mechanism was being created, when the issues were regulated by the relevant act of the Communications Commission, the code, then precisely the British model was taken into account," said Goduladze, who is one of the initiators of the draft law.
