Armenia's foreign trade turnover in January-February of this year doubled, reaching 5.3 billion dollars.
According to operational data published by the statistical committee, in February this indicator increased by 2.2 times, reaching 3.1 billion dollars.
Meanwhile, export for the first two months increased by 2.6 times, exceeding 2.5 billion dollars, while import rose by 73%, reaching 2.7 billion dollars.
Thus, the negative balance for the first two months of this year sharply decreased, amounting to only 200 million dollars, which is a unique phenomenon for the country's economy.
Previously, import into Armenia always significantly exceeded export volumes.
