According to the survey conducted in Tbilisi in June of 2018, 58% of residents believe that the most optimal age for woman to get married is from 25 to 30 years, the same age is named by 70% of respondents as the most optimal age for man to get married. Despite this, more than one third of inquired respondents believe that woman should get married earlier than man.
As for taking care of child, the majority (77%) believes that responsibilities should be equally distributed between parents; however, if 22% of respondents believe that mother is mostly responsible for raising a child, only 1% thinks that fathers are responsible for taking care of their child. It is worth mentioning that no gender differences have been identified in regard with this issue.
As for financial condition, 63% of Tbilisi residents believe that man and woman should equally contribute in family’s finances. Despite this, results of the study conducted by ACT last year showed that 65% of family’s income is contributed by man while 35% comes on woman (link).
