Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili held an introductory meeting with Holger Floerkemeier, Director of the IMF’s Regional Capacity Development Center for the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia (CCAMTAC).
According to the ministry, the discussion focused on ongoing and planned technical cooperation projects aimed at strengthening macroeconomic stability, fiscal policy, and related institutional capacities. The sides also emphasized the Finance Ministry’s role in regional cooperation initiatives in these areas.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Finance Ministers Giorgi Kakauridze, Ekaterine Guntsadze, and Tsotne Kavalashvili, along with IMF Resident Representative in Georgia Andrew Jewell.
CCAMTAC is a joint initiative of the IMF and nine member countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Established in 2021, the center focuses on advancing economic capacity across the region.
