Georgia’s fintech sector has established a special working group to prepare legislative proposals aimed at addressing key industry challenges. The initiative, launched by the Georgian Fintech Association, was agreed during a meeting of non-bank financial sector representatives.

According to the association, the working group will draft legislative initiatives and submit them to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) and Parliament. The group will also review ongoing regulatory reforms and other priority issues affecting the fintech industry.

Georgian Fintech Association Chairman Davit Kikvidze said the sector now has a clear action plan following recent discussions with the NBG. He noted that the industry is preparing concrete proposals and has established an internal working group to coordinate closely with the central bank.

Participants said stronger cooperation between regulators and the private sector will help create a more competitive and innovation-friendly regulatory environment, attract investment, and support the long-term development of Georgia’s fintech ecosystem. They also welcomed the National Bank’s commitment to maintaining an open dialogue with the industry.
