Shaori Chalet, a floating hut on the Shaori Lake in Racha is closing down terminally, - according to the official Facebook page of the Shaori Chalet. The floating hut will resume operating from spring.
BM.GE inquired what became the reason for the closure of Shaori Chalet and whether it was related to seasonality, to which the company's founder Vakhtang Iashvili says that one of the reasons is the climatic conditions.
"Lake Shaori freezes in winter and at the moment technically it is not possible to leave the cottage on the ice. I would like to note that we still have demand, but due to these difficulties we stop working until spring, "- said Vakhtang Iashvili.
Floating hut, launched with an investment of GEL 40,000 in 2020 attracted the attention of foreign and local tourists in its first year. The cottage also actively received guests in October-November last year. Shaori Chalet stopped working during the winter season of last year and the tourist facility resumed customer service from this May.
According to Vakhtang Iashvili, it worked with full capacity during the summer months. Since May, the cottage has received a total of 220 guests, of which about 70% were foreigners and 30% were local tourists. In the conditions of pandemics and bans, the attractive tourist destination was visited mainly by tourists from the United Arab Emirates, European countries and the USA. Bloggers, photographers and influencers were interested in the new object. It should be noted that the cost of spending one night in the floating hut with breakfast for two people is GEL 400.
