The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) published a report. According to the report, transactions with foreign bank cards made up GEL 309 million in March 2022 in Georgia. This amount is 3.2 times more compared to the previous year.
Including, most of the transactions were carried out through ATMs. Holders of foreign bank cards withdrew GEL 179 million in March, which was three times more compared to the previous year.
Holders of foreign bank cards have fulfilled transactions of GEL 110 million through post-terminals, which is also three folds up. It includes revenues from tourism, retail, entertainment and other sectors.
A total of 1.7 million individual payments were made with foreign bank cards in March, which is 3.6 times more than the previous year. The average volume of ATM transactions (cash withdrawals) was GEL 773, while the average volume of one post-terminal transaction was GEL 86.
