The London Wine Fair, an international exhibition dedicated to wine and spirits, serves as a vital platform for Georgian producers to seek new trading partners, promote their wines, and boost exports. Held annually in London since 1981, it is recognised as one of the most significant events in the global wine industry. The fair consistently attracts thousands of visitors from around the world, including wine experts, trade representatives, and media personnel.
According to the National Wine Agency, the event was attended by Ilia Darchiashvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Kingdom. Georgian entrepreneurs also received support from the Embassy of Georgia in the UK to present their wines at the London Wine Fair 2026.
During the fair, Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine and head of the British company Swirl Wine Group, a partner of the National Wine Agency, conducted three tastings and presentations of Georgian wines for industry professionals.
The UK remains one of the largest importers and consumers of wine globally, emerging as a key strategic market for Georgian wine since 2014. The ongoing collaboration between the National Wine Agency and Georgian producers has fostered positive export growth. In the first four months of 2026, Georgia exported up to 116.5 thousand litres of wine to the UK, an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
