Vake District Administration has announced a simplified procurement for the provision of free canteen services to 1,600 citizens living in difficult social conditions. According to the tender documentation, the service will run from October 1 to November 30, 2025, a total of 61 calendar days, with a procurement cost of GEL 165,920.
Under the agreement, the supplier will distribute daily food rations to beneficiaries listed by the district administration. Beneficiaries must confirm receipt through electronic registration, while in cases of technical failure, such as internet outages or power disruptions, signatures will be recorded in a bound, sealed, and certified journal.
The procurement follows repeated appeals against the free canteen service tender initially announced on November 11, 2024. Due to legal deadlines and procedures, the contract could not be signed in time, prompting the administration to proceed with simplified procurement to avoid service delays.
As of August 2025, the Social Service Agency reported that 13,674 residents of the Vake-Saburtalo district were recipients of subsistence allowance. However, the exact number of beneficiaries in Vake alone remains unspecified.
