Freeze-dried fruit produced by Georgian company Imeri has entered the local market, as part of a joint project with GDB Agro. The initiative was discussed on BMGTV’s Business Morning by Imeri founder Nika Kiknadze and GDB Agro Supervisory Board Chair Iva Tchkonia.
The partners said the product is grown in the fertile soil of Lagodekhi by GDB Agro using modern agricultural technologies and international standards, after which it is processed and delivered to consumers by Imeri. They noted that the cooperation combines modern farming practices with efficient distribution, helping set higher quality standards in the Georgian market.
According to Kiknadze, freeze-dried fruit is already available in major retail chains such as Europroduct and Fresco, as well as online via Imeri2020.ge. He described the product, dried under vacuum at minus 60°C, as retaining its natural texture and gaining strong consumer demand.
GDB Agro’s Iva Tchkonia said the company is focusing on niche products and aims to improve affordability by reducing logistics costs. He added that next year the company plans to introduce a refrigerated electric delivery vehicle to further optimize supply chains and lower production costs.
