In an interview with Public Television, French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies raised the issue of the need for diversification in all areas to ensure the country's independence in economic, defense, and political spheres.
Decottignies noted that the French expression "don't put all your eggs in one basket" is relevant for Armenian authorities as well. He emphasized France's readiness to support Armenia in this direction, citing successful examples of cooperation such as the Armenian branch of the French company "Veolia," which operates the water supply system in the country, and the company "AMUNDI-ACBA," managing pension funds.
The ambassador emphasized the need to create a favorable business environment in Armenia, combat monopolies and corruption, and attract foreign enterprises. He reminded of how the company "Orange" previously left the country due to unfavorable conditions, disappointing many French entrepreneurs.
Olivier Decottignies concluded that Armenia needs to make efforts to improve the business environment, and France is ready to actively participate in this process. "We have already begun the process of supporting Armenia. However, I agree that we can do even more," he said.
