Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia, Edgar Zakaryan, discussed prospects for deepening economic cooperation and new investment opportunities with a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD).
It was reported that AFD, which has already invested over €320 million in Armenia’s economy, is currently assessing the country’s macroeconomic and financial situation.
During the meeting, Armenia’s key economic policy priorities were presented, including plans for export and import diversification, existing state support mechanisms for businesses, and major investment programs.
Special attention was given to the project for the creation of modern industrial zones and international-level logistics centers, as well as the Crossroads of Peace initiative aimed at strengthening regional integration.
AFD has been operating in Armenia since 2013, focusing on projects related to climate change mitigation, sustainable natural resource management, energy transition, public finance management, and urban infrastructure development.
