On May 1st, Uzbek entrepreneur Sayfulin Roman, the co-founder of The Choyxana, is doing an Uzbek Plov pop-up event with Georgian Restaurateurs Giorgi Kirkitadze and Zuka Shonia, co-founders of Vake Bistro.

It will be the first Uzbek Plov event in Georgia. The Plov chefs, known as Oshpaz, would represent the Choyxana, the “Kazan” - a Plov cooker, and all the ingredients will be brought from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, especially for the event.

According to the hosts, this event is a testament to the friendship and cultural ties between the two countries of Georgia and Uzbekistan and an opportunity for the famous Uzbeki restaurant to export its great dish of Plov (Rice Pilaf), as well as for Georgians, who could taste the indigenous cuisine of one of the ancient cultures.

To complement the experience Vake Bistro team will pair Plov with the unique Georgian natural wines. As the founders of the cafe claim, supporting Georgian cuisine and local winemaking - is their goal. “Vake Bistro is not merely a business. It is a social place where people can hang out with friends, exchange ideas, and enjoy quality food and beverages. It is a place that feels like home”.

The Choyxana team plans to expand across the region and export the great Uzbek culture. The Special Plov Party will be the first such opportunity that will take place in Georgia.
