Fruit processing enterprise planning to employ 2 000 people

The fruit processing enterprise Caucasus Organic Fruit is planning to expand and employ 2 000 people, - BM.ge was told about this by Otal Lomidze, Quality Manager of the company. the enterprise started operating in Mtskheta in test mode in October last year and will actively start processing fruit by the end of May. The company is planning to add new equipment which requires an investment of 500 000 USD. “We are planning to expand, add new equipment and employ total of 2000 people, which will also include raw material supplier companies. Out product will be made of 100% Georgian fruit, seasoning in Georgia.

Expansion involves also introduction of new technologies, namely, we want to buy and install sun-drying equipment, which will allow natural drying of fruit. For all of this 500 000 USD will be invested. We want to facilitate establishment of cooperatives, which will bring together farmers. We will buy fruits, produced by them. We are also planning to collect bio fruits from forests in Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti regions, for which purpose we are now in process of certifying forests in cooperation with Caucascert company,” – stated Otar Lomidze. Caucasus Organic Fruits, Ltd. is planning to produce annually 50 tons of high quality dried fruit, candied fruit and tklapi (pureed fruit roll-ups, spread and sun-dried on a flat board). The enterprise was established in Mtskheta within the framework of United Agricultural Project. Total investment made 1 700 000 USD.
